Three Big Figures, Three Different Jobs

Jio's planned fundraising of up to $3.2 billion, Anduril's proposed $90 billion valuation and CoreWeave's bond yields approaching 15% describe different financial conditions. CNBC's reports cover a share-sale target, an implied company value and a measure associated with debt pricing. They cannot be stacked into a single ranking of corporate health. One concerns capital sought, another the price implied by a transaction, and another pressure in the debt market. The proposed transactions also remain conditional. The numbers look ready to compete on the same television graphic, but they have arrived for different sports. A dollar amount, another dollar amount and a percentage cannot settle the contest merely by standing beside one another in expensive shoes.
