Scammers Lose Some of Their Business Infrastructure
· New York time
Microsoft says it helped dismantle a marketplace used to distribute phishing messages worldwide, following an investigation with Japan's National Police Agency. The network was linked to more than a billion scam messages. The important feature is the marketplace: familiar fake delivery and parking notices can rely on organized infrastructure rather than isolated individual efforts. Disrupting that machinery targets the distribution system behind the inbox clutter. The claimed intervention is substantial without guaranteeing an empty spam folder. A familiar scam format does not become trustworthy because one network has been disrupted. The nonexistent parcel may have lost a logistics partner, but it still has an impressive commitment to requesting immediate payment.
