The Number-Linking Notice Arrives After the Introduction
· New York time
Android users have reported unexpected Google emails confirming phone-number verification, according to Android Authority reporting carried by Slashdot. The opt-out feature, called “Phone number verification” in Google settings, associates the active number across signed-in accounts. The notification angle matters because a confirmation can announce a relationship someone did not consciously create. Work and secondary accounts are included alongside other accounts on the phone. The software has effectively sent a networking follow-up before the owner recalls attending the event. An informative email is useful, but surprise remains an awkward onboarding strategy.
