Jev is Vercel’s fastest-adopted AI model, according to data from the company’s AI gateway. The gateway is a unified API service, making its usage a view into activity on that platform rather than a count of the entire model market. Adoption speed can reveal developer interest and the importance of distribution. It does not by itself establish why users arrived, how long they will stay or which tasks the model performs best. A crowded entrance is meaningful, but it remains an entrance, not proof that the whole city has moved inside. For developers assessing models, popularity is useful context alongside the less glamorous work of determining whether the tool actually fits the job. The welcome mat cannot do the benchmark’s work.
