Porch Light Promoted to Middle Management

Baseus has announced the Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera, an AI-assisted security camera with a motorized spotlight that follows moving targets. The device adds active illumination to the familiar business of recording activity and sending alerts. That changes the household security proposition. A conventional porch light turns on and hopes everyone understands its position. A tracking spotlight can maintain eye contact, at least in the architectural sense. The front yard begins to resemble a small theater whose only production is Someone Approaches the Door. For buyers, the useful distinction is between seeing an event afterward and making a camera's presence obvious while something is happening. Neither function should be confused with a guarantee about what a visitor will do next. A brighter welcome is still just a brighter welcome. The product also illustrates how consumer AI is moving into ordinary hardware. Instead of composing a paragraph, it helps decide where a light should point. That may be less glamorous than a digital assistant, but considerably easier to explain at a hardware store. The porch has acquired stage direction. The delivery box remains the evening's least expressive supporting actor.
