Cornfield Receives Unscheduled Aerospace Delivery
· New York time
Evidence points to debris found in a Minnesota farmer's cornfield being part of a Chinese Zhuque-2E rocket that deorbited over the state. The identification connects an orbital event with an unmistakably terrestrial location. The practical issue is that returning space hardware does not respect the tidy boundary between aerospace operations and ordinary land use. Material launched far away can become a local recovery question. A cornfield is designed to receive weather, seed and agricultural equipment. International rocket hardware is a considerably less routine addition to the inventory, and an especially poor candidate for the harvest spreadsheet.
